Erling Haaland and the Champions League are a match made in heaven.
The Norwegian striker seems to score in every single game he plays and Manchester City‘s last-16 clash with FC Copenhagen was no different.

Haaland scored City’s third on the night at the Etihad Stadium as they cruised towards the quarter-finals with a 3-1 victory, going through 6-2 on aggregate.
That remarkably made it his 41st in his career in the Champions League so far – and he’s played just 37 games.
Haaland has already matched Sergio Aguero‘s all-time UCL goal tally.
Aguero took 79 matches to reach that mark, 42 games more than Haaland has taken.
The 23-year-old’s goal tally is so mind-boggling that only 18 people in the history of the competition have scored more than him.
Haaland already has one Champions League trophy in his cabinet and City are the favourites to retain their crown again this year.
He could have five more chances to add to his record this season if they reach the final again.
Haaland’s goal also means he joins Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe at the top of the Champions League scoring charts for this season.
Kane and Mbappe netted two goals each as Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the next round on Tuesday night.

Haaland’s goal means he equalled their tally of six so far in the 2023/24 campaign.
City raced to a 2-0 lead inside the opening nine minutes thanks to goals from Manuel Akanji and Julian Alvarez.
Mohamed Elyounoussi, who used to play for Southampton in the Premier League pulled one back before Haaland restored City’s two-goal lead on the night just before half time.
