Former Barcelona and Spain defender Gerard Pique has announced a sponsorship deal with Casio in response to his ex Shakira’s diss track.
The song, ‘Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol 53’, was released on Friday and takes aim at Pique after their 11-year relationship ended in June 2022.

“I’m worth two 22’s. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio,” Shakira sings on the record, which has garnered 88million views on YouTube in two days.
Now, Spain legend Pique, who has two children with Shakira, has hit back at the singer in an appearance on a Kings League stream.
As president of a 7-a-side league, the 35-year-old has taken Shakira’s Casio reference in good humour, getting the watch brand to sponsor his team.
Lifting up his wrist, he said: “Casio has sent us wrist watches. We reached a sponsorship agreement with Casio, the King’s League struck a deal with Casio.”
Those on the stream, including ex-Manchester City and Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero, burst out laughing.
When Pique was asked if it was a joke, he then begins handing out the timepieces to his fellow live streamers.

And when quizzed on why he made the move, after a brief awkward silence, Aguero left everyone in stitches with his blunt response.
“It was because of Shakira’s song,” he said with a straight face.
Pique retired from football earlier this season and recently announced the formation of Kings League.
The competition features 12 teams comprised of former players and Spanish influencers.
Pique’s current girlfriend, Clara Chia, also responded to the song by posting a yawning emoji on her Instagram stories, that she later deleted.
