Luka Modric was consoled by Sergio Aguero in the tunnel after Croatia’s 3-0 defeat to Argentina in the World Cup semi-final.
The Blazers were blown away by the brilliance of Lionel Messi, who put on a show to inspire his nation to a World Cup final against France or Morocco on Sunday.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner scored a penalty to open the scoring and supplied a magical assist to create the third, as Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez scored twice.
While Messi can still get his hands on football’s greatest prize, Modric‘s hopes of ending his career with a World Cup medal are surely over.
At 37-years old, the Real Madrid maestro was still able to inspire his nation throughout Qatar 2022, but most expect this to be his World Cup swansong.
Modric looked devastated as cameras followed him down the tunnel after the defeat to Argentina.
However, there was a touching moment as retired Argentine Aguero pulled Modric aside to console him.
It shows the sheer regard for the midfielder among his fellow professionals, especially considering the contrasting scenes after the Albiceleste’s quarter-final victory over the Netherlands.
