Sergio Aguero’s first time at a World Cup since his retirement got off to a hilarious start as he found himself on a plane with Brazil fans.

These weren’t just any kind of Brazil supporters though, as shown by footage posted by the former Argentina and Manchester City star on his social media as he travelled alongside them to Qatar.

Aguero clearly found it hilarious that it was just his luck to be stuck with some of Brazil’s hardcore fans

Aguero appeared to have booked himself into first class for his trip to support Argentina as a fan for the first time since his retirement from football.

But any hopes of a relaxing trip were dashed pretty quickly as a large number of loud Brazil fans all wearing the country’s iconic yellow and green appeared before take-off.

And it wasn’t just their hand luggage they had on board with them, either…

As Aguero begins recording, you can already hear a loud drum in the background as well as the booming, passionate voices of the five-time World Cup winners’ supporters.

He then slowly lifts the camera up to show the congregation of supporters – who presumably hadn’t noticed the former Man City star – gathering in the aisle near his seat.

Dancing along to the beat of the drum, the Brazil fans were waving their hands in the air and singing along.

Aguero then pans the camera back to his face, as he scratches his head with a smirk on his face, seeing the funny side of the whole ordeal.

‘The whole trip like this’, Aguero wrote with a laughing face emoji alongside the video on his Instagram story.

The Argentinian was presumably travelling to Qatar to support his country at a World Cup, the first time since he was forced to hang up his boots in 2021 after he was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat.

The 34-year-old – who became a legend by scoring the goal that won Manchester City their first Premier League title in 2012 – earned 101 caps for Argentina, scoring 41 goals.

The City icon played in his first World Cup in South Africa in 2010, and went on to feature at the 2014 tournament in Brazil – which saw them reach the final – as well as in Russia in 2018.

Hopefully Argentina will give him less of a headache than the drum probably did on his long flight to the Middle East!
