Sergio Aguero has revealed the message he received from Lionel Messi after Karim Benzema scored to complete Real Madrid’s comeback against Manchester City.
The Premier League side were moments from reaching their second consecutive Champions League final, only for substitute Rodrygo’s two goals to level the scores on aggregate in stoppage time.
Karim Benzema’s penalty five minutes into extra-time produced one of the most incredible turnarounds in the competition’s history and ultimately knocked out Pep Guardiola’s side out in stunning fashion.
Los Blancos will now face Liverpool in the final of Europe’s elite competition in Paris on May 28, and will be looking to get their hands on the trophy for a 14th time.
Messi was part of the Paris Saint-Germain side that suffered a collapse at the hands of Real Madrid earlier in the competition, when Benzema netted a hat-trick at the Santiago Bernabeu to defeat the French Champions 3-2 on aggregate in the last-16.
And on Wednesday, the 34-year-old star not believe what he was witnessing when Benzema’s goal hit the back of the net on Wednesday, and messaged Aguero straight after.
Aguero, who was streaming himself watching the game alongside Carlos Tevez, claimed Messi sent him a message which said: ‘Stop f***ing around! It can’t be!’
Messi left left Real Madrid’s arch-rivals Barcelona in the summer and will know doubt be routing for the Reds to ensure they claim their seventh title.

Prior to Manchester City’s clash in the Spanish capital, Aguero voiced his concern about Guardiola’s men facing an in-form Los Blancos.
“I want to say that I’m really nervous, I don’t know why but I’m nervous”, he said.
“I want City to go through. I don’t know what Pep has in store, I imagine he didn’t sleep all night, I know him.”
Former Manchester City striker Tevez was also left speechless following the outcome of Wednesday’s match.
“It’s crazy, you can’t win another game like that”, he added.
The result means Manchester City are just fighting for the Premier League title, and Guardiola will have a massive task to ensure there is no Bernabeu hangover.
